Fado Museum

The Fado Museum is an indispensable stop for all those interested in discovering more about this form of musical expression that is so characteristic of Lisbon. The site houses several functional areas: a museum centre with a permanent exhibition, where modern museography and the audiovisual recreation of ambiences entice the visitor to engage with the history of Fado, the places where it was produced, and how it was disseminated by the Teatro de Revista (vaudeville plays), radio, recordings, cinema its interpreters and instrumentalists; an area for temporary exhibitions; a documentation centre; an auditorium; a theme shop complete with a coffee shop.
